A Desert Island Herbal - Indispensable Remedies for Every Home
In Person: May 31st, 6pm
It’s no secret, if I could only choose to work with FOUR herb folk for the rest of my life, they would be Rose, Yarrow, Calendula and Plantain. Four plants which have made themselves absolutely indispensable both in my clinical practice and my home remedy chest.
Over the many, many years I’ve been doing this work, I’ve come to believe that simplicity truly is a form of mastery, and the confidence which comes from familiarity - a thorough, relational Knowing between person and plant - is beyond priceless.
It’s not about creating complex formulas with exotic remedies, it’s about cultivating a trusting, working relationship with the plants outside your door.
In this workshop we’ll dive deep into these four gems of the Plant world, exploring all the ways in which they meet us at the point of our need. We’ll talk about techniques for making remedies with them, where to find or how to grow them, and the ways we can harvest and preserve them.
Not only will you learn the lore of these kindred ones, but also get a *not quite crash* course in some easy preparation techniques such as making a salve, tea, tincture, etc.
Monographs will be provided for each plant, as well as preparation cheat sheets, for both online {as a downloadable pdf} or in-person {as a printed resource} attendees.
This workshop is in-person, here at the meadow’s edge in Manchester, ME. There is a $10 suggested donation, cash/venmo/paypal are all accepted.
